  • “Praying for a Change”

Almost everyone prays. Prayer come bursting out of us, sometimes when we least expect it. Throughout history we humans have constructed elaborate strategies and formulas for talking to God. We call these strategies “religion.” Surprisingly, Jesus was not a big advocate of religion. He advocated talking to God in simple, natural, even instinctive ways. In this workshop we’ll explore “raw” prayer and the simple, counterintuitive process of talking to God taught and practiced by Jesus. I’ll guide participants in some simple practices and disciplines to make this kind of prayer a natural part of life.
Presented as a 1 hour, 3 hour, or 8 hour seminar/workshop.

  • “Fighting Like Jesus”

Jesus doesn’t say much in Mark’s Gospel. But when he does speak, things happen! Seven times when Jesus faced a crisis he chose two situation-specific words to confront the matter. When we face the same, Jesus invites us to borrow his words. “Wonder Words of Jesus” is a real-time adventure exploring the power of deploying Jesus’ words inside our normal lives. The experience begins with a read-through of Mark’s Gospel followed by a two-hour, on-location orientation. Over the succeeding seven days participants again walk through the Gospel learning to apply Jesus’ words to their life situations, documenting their experiences in a web log.
Presented as a 2 hour introductory seminar.

  • Living For Ever: Goal Setting for the Next 10,000 Years”

“What is your mission in life?” “Where are you going? “How will you get there?”  We understand the importance of personal vision. We appreciate the disciplines of goal setting and time management. Still few personal management systems begin with premise of eternal life. How do we set goals with the next 10,000 years in mind? In this workshop, “Living For Ever” I guide participants through the Biblical foundation and the practical implications of eternal life.
Presented as a 1 hour, 3 hour, or 8 hour seminar/workshop.

  • “Listen Up to a Down to Earth God”

Is it possible to hear God speak? How can we distinguish between the noises in our mind and the authentic voice of the Creator? Mark Herringshaw believes that listening to God is not a complicated matter. Instead of asking us to become spiritual and enter his world, God has come “down to earth” and speaks to us in and through the ordinary experiences of our everyday lives. All we have to do is “tune in” to the simple frequencies he uses to broadcast his messages. In “Listen Up” I guide participants through the Biblical foundation of communication with God and together we experiment and explore the practices of hearing God’s voice.
Presented as a 1 hour, 3 hour, or 8 hour seminar/workshop.

  • “Ceasefire: Resolving Conflict”

God is relational. More, God is a relationship. Just as individuals are created in his image, relationships between individuals are created in his image as well. But in reality, human interaction is wrought with difficulty.  Relationships are hard! We often end up in conflict. • “Unleadership: Leveraging Power Like Jesus”

Leadership is all the rage. But much if not most of what is offered as “Christian” leadership is little more than the warmed-over claptrap of management courses from run-of-the-mill MBA courses. How did Jesus lead? How did he exercise influence? These are the questions we’ll explore in this seminar. And more: we’ll put the principles into practice in our lives and leadership situations.

  • “Frogkissing: Wooing, Wowing, and the Ways of Love”

Romantic relationships matter to everyone. If you’re married, your spouse is the single most significant person on the planet.  If you’re not married, that fact in itself, for better or worse, casts a huge shadow of influence over you. Does God have an opinion about this issue? Indeed.  In this workshop I explore the dynamics of a holy and wholesome passionate life for those within covenant relationships of marriage, and those living as singles.
